BTS 'Arirang' Achieves Number One on Billboard 200

The latest album by BTS, titled 'Arirang', has climbed to the pinnacle of the Billboard 200 chart. The group is making a significant impact globally, topping various music charts and selling out their world tour.

With their fifth studio album 'Arirang', BTS has managed to dominate significant weekly music charts both in South Korea and internationally.

As reported by Hanteo Chart, a well-known album sales tracking service, on the 30th, BTS's recent album 'Arirang' led both the weekly world and album charts for the period spanning March 23 to 29. Remarkably, it ascended to the top just three days post its release date on March 20, and it successfully retained its lead for two weeks straight.

In accordance with an article preview by Billboard, a prominent American music publication, 'Arirang' has secured the leading position on the 'Billboard 200' chart dated April 4. The album entered with 641,000 album units, marking it as the most successful weekly performance for a group album since the introduction of the unit tracking system in December 2014. Out of these, 532,000 were accounted as pure album sales, encompassing both physical and digital purchases. This achievement sets a new benchmark for the highest weekly sales of a group album in over ten years.

In addition to Billboard, BTS has also made a strong presence on global music platforms. They topped the global weekly charts on Spotify from March 20 to 26, capturing top positions in 'Weekly Top Albums', 'Weekly Top Songs', and 'Weekly Top Artists'. The album's title song 'SWIM' notably claimed the number one position on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global'. Impressively, all 14 tracks from 'Arirang' were placed within the top 30.

The track 'SWIM' sustained its number one spot on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' and Apple Music's 'Top 100 Global' for nine and seven days respectively, covering the period from March 20 to 28 and March 23 to 29. The entire album's songs continue to feature in the latest rankings on both platforms even ten days after the album's release, demonstrating the enduring popularity and affection from international music listeners.


 

In the meantime, BTS is set to commence the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'' at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, with performances scheduled for April 9, 11, and 12. The tour will extend to major stadium venues in South America this October, including places such as Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. Impressively, all 46 scheduled performances, including those in Goyang, North America, Europe, and Tokyo, Japan, are sold out well in advance, emphasizing their extraordinary ticket-selling prowess.
